Taking Control Of How You Age

In this fast paced world, everyone seems to be ‘busy’, having ‘no time or not enough time’ to do the things they wanted to do in a day. In such a scenario, is it a wonder that everyone is attracted to or only interested in quick fixes to almost every problem one faces, more so when health issues concerned.

Despite all the progress and discoveries made, there are more and more chronic and even new chronic diseases – due to stress from all aspects of life. Stress, a silent killer, produces the most free radicals in the body.

Many scientists and physicians has authored books on Antioxidants. You may like to read James F Balch’s The Super Antioxidant; Richard A Passwater’s The Antioxidants; and Lester Packer’s The Antioxidant Miracle, has documented his research concerning the amazing benefits of antioxidants, flavonoids, carotenoids, and free radicals, which he describes as both enemy and friend. Research had indicated the right combination of these compounds can enhance the quality of our lives by keeping ourselves mentally sharp, our body young and joints supple.

While some antioxidants are produced in our body, others are found abundantly in plants. Click below and hear from experienced researchers Dr Alex Schauss and Dr Lou Niles on their findings in their latest research and clinic studies :-

Supplements are still a necessity because it is absolutely impossible to get all the required nutrients from our modern diet. Each person's requirement is different depending on one's age, current health condition, daily activities and lifestyle.

There are many brands and types of supplements in various forms in the market. As a lay person, buying supplements can be a confusing issue, not knowing which product is reliable or suitable for your requirements.

When you have doubts, go consult your trusted health practitioner (not a consultant who do not practise) who genuinely have an interest in your well being before anything else; someone who is willing to monitor and guide you along step by step.

Pain Killers: Beware !

The weather now is getting warmer and even hot as we approach summer. For those living near the equator, you may even experience heat waves when it fails to rain. It is in such weather conditions, especially when your body is unable to adapt effectively, you tend to experience headache/migraine, sore throat, running nose, cough, dehydration, fainting spells, aches and pains in various forms.

The first and easiest thing to do – usually for us modern “busy” people – is to call on our common friend, “Panadol” or other pain-relievers, without having 2nd thoughts about their consequences and side effects.

After reading the article below, you will get that these drugs are not so friendly after all. Please read on… and armed yourself with proper information that could save and prolong your life. For natural alternatives to your “panadol”.. catch my next posting.

FDA calls for pain reliever warning

Non-prescription pain relievers used by millions of U.S. consumers need stronger health warnings regarding liver or stomach risk, the Food and Drug Administration said.

The drugs include some of the most commonly taken in the USA aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen — and will affect such household brands as Motrin, Advil, Aleve and Tylenol.

While some manufacturers already note the health risks on packages, the FDA wants the warnings to be more specific, standardized and prominent. New labels aren't likely to be required for at least a year, but companies can do so sooner. The FDA proposes that:

• Products with acetaminophen, such as Tylenol, include warnings for liver toxicity, particularly when used in high doses, with other acetaminophen products or with 3 or more drinks of alcohol a day.

• Over-the-counter NSAIDs (short for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) include warnings for stomach bleeding in people over 60; those who have had ulcers, take a blood thinner or more than one NSAID; or those who take them with alcohol or longer than directed.

Attention focused on their risks in 2004 when prescription NSAID Vioxx was withdrawn because of heart attack and stroke risk. Last year, the FDA sought a warning on prescription NSAID Celebrex for cardiovascular and stomach risks.

An FDA advisory panel in 2002 said over-the-counter NSAIDs should have stronger warnings about stomach bleeding. To help consumers track their consumption, the FDA also wants "acetaminophen" or "NSAID" to be prominent on the package. Consumers taking a pain reliever may not know that a cold medication, for example, also contains the ingredient.

Because over-the-counter NSAIDs are usually taken at lower doses and for less time than prescription NSAIDs, their cardiovascular risk is low, says the FDA's Charles Ganley, head of non-prescription drugs. The warnings don't stem from new data regarding health risks and NSAIDs, Ganley says. But he added there may be increasing evidence of liver risks with acetaminophen.

A study published last year in Hepatology concluded that liver damage caused by acetaminophen exceeded other causes of U.S. drug-induced acute liver failure, but that most of the cases stemmed from accidental overdoses or suicide attempts. About 100 people in the USA die each year after accidental acetaminophen overdoses, the FDA says.

PRODUCTS AFFECTED :

The FDA's proposal will affect hundreds of over-the-counter products. Some: NSAIDs: Aspirin, Advil and Motrin (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen)

Products with acetaminophen: Tylenol, Tylenol Children's, Excedrin PM, Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold & Sinus, Sudafed Sinus & Cold.

4 Ways To Avoid Heartburn

Of all the irises I have seen, I have not seen anyone with a healthy digestive system. One out of three would say that they do experience some degree of heartburn every now and then.

What is a heartburn? Heartburn is also known as pyrosis. According to the definition from Dorland’s medical dictionary definition, it says:

an esophageal symptom consisting of a retrosternal sensation of warmth or burning occurring in waves and tending to rise upward toward the neck, it may be accompanied by a reflux of fluid into the mouth (water brash). It is often associated with gastro-esophageal reflux.”

Heartburn occurs when the muscles at the end of your esophagus are not closed tightly after food has moved into the stomach. This allows the acid contents of the stomach to flow back, or reflux, into the esophagus and irritate it. When this problem is not corrected or treated, it will deteriorate to a chronic stage called gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) that could damage your esophagus, and turn cancerous.

Here are 4 tips that could help alleviate heartburn. They are simple and easy steps to take on, but they are also easy to be ignored or taken for granted.

Eat slowly & take time to eat:
Observe how you eat. Do you finish eating in 5 minutes or do you really chew your food? Eating too fast has a tendency to overeat and swallow in more air which add volume to your stomach. A full stomach relaxes the lower esophagus sphincter so much so that stomach acid is able to seep up the esophagus causing irritation.

Go for tea:
It is best not to have caffeinated drinks after meals. Caffeine helps relaxes the lower esophagus as well and allow stomach acid to travel up the esophagus.

Sit upright after meals:
Sleeping or even lying down horizontally immediately after meals will also allow hydrochloric acid from your stomach to flow back up to the esophagus. It is best to sit in an upward position after meals or take a walk which would help your digestion process.

Loose clothing:
Wearing tight fitting clothes and tight belts may force stomach acid up the esophagus too. Wearing comfortable clothing will help enhance your proper circulation in your body.

Heartburn is a sign that your digestive system is not working normally. There is a chemical imbalance in your body and also an imbalance of the intestinal flora. Certain amount of waste is accumulating that is preventing proper absorption of nutrients. It is time for a clean up.

A colon cleansing therapy follow by sufficient dosages of probiotic will help restore your body’s absorption of nutrients which are ‘fuel’ to your body to have its various system get back to work again. Do give your body a chance and sufficient time to heal itself so that it can serve you appropriately.

Why Do Chronic Diseases Happen To Children? (final part)

Possibility No:4

Poor eating habits & poor choices of food:

If you care to look deeply, many illnesses are brought about by our very own doing. Unconsciously you had your kids follow your kind of eating habits and lifestyle, and they would follow their parents’ examples innocently.

a) High consumption of refined and processed foods:

In the prevailing rat race lifestyle, most people take the convenience to go for fast foods which are easily available. When we run out of time, the only thought is to ‘fill up the stomach’ and not ‘what is nutritious’ for my body.

b) Lack discipline:

Parents give in easily to children’s “wants” instead of “needs”. Children’s wants normally are not the natural foods of fruits & vegetables but high sugar contents and ‘junk’ foods.

c) Unhealthy environment & lifestyle:

Pollution is everywhere. In our food, water, air, outside and inside our own home. I like to include the people around you and you mix with has an influence and on you, your children and family that leads to chronic illnesses.

Many has the ‘wrong’ belief that there is nothing you can do about your inherent weaknesses. The good news is - there is always something you can to do about it – when you are ready for it.

The best and wise thing to do is to stop doing and eating things that could further deteriorate your weak areas (be it your kidney, heart, stomach) immediately, and take effective actions and precautions that could support them and strengthen other normal parts of your body instead.

Why Do Chronic Dis-eases Happen To Children? (Part 2) ....cont'd

Possibility No:3
Inherent weaknesses/Genetic cause:

Inherent weaknesses are congenital abnormalities, inherited from the parents, grandparents and/or even possibly from the grandparents, due to their poor living habits. We never know how exactly our genes work and how far they would trickle down to the next or next next generation.

The point is, these weaknesses of the parents were not identified, treated or taken care of well before they conceive children.

Now, obviously, knowledge of any inherent weaknesses and strengths in you would be an advantage to you and your health professional. Why? Because your health professional could be in a position to help/support you in planning a program to achieve optimum health - to strengthen the weaker organs and body parts to have your body function well..

You know what? The fastest (in 10-15 minutes) and non invasive method to check your overall health status is the science of Iridology.

Iridology gives an overall view of the all inherent weaknesses in the body and enable you to create an effective plan for nutritional support, health adjustment and enhancement of these areas.

Iridology is a long proven science of more than 300 yrs old. It can quickly determine where the primary or root cause exits, and it reveals the way in which the original cause would lead to secondary symptoms. It provides a picture of inner workings of the whole body.

Apart from these benefits, it can monitor your recovery process and quickly tell whether the therapy or program you are on is working effectively for you or not by way of healing signs which can be seen from your irides. This is one of the many benefits which other form of diagnostic tools do not have.

For your benefit of your wellbeing and wellness, I would highly recommend you to click here and take action and have your iris analyzed as soon as possible -- especially those of you who are planning to start a family.

Why Do Chronic Dis-eases Happen To Children? (Part 2).. cont'd

Possibility No: 2
Use of chemicals in toiletries and cosmetics:

Msnbc recently reported that Phthalates (chemicals used to stabilize fragrances and plastic's flexibility) are found in baby's toiletries, lotions, toys and cosmetics. It said that urine of babies who had used these products, contains high levels of phthalates. These chemicals, which can be absorbed through the skin, are linked with possible reproductive problems.

There are numerous studies and reports made on harmful ingredients found in personal care products (such as toothpaste, bath gel, shampoo, sunblock) and cosmetics in the market globally.

Elizabeth Sword, Executive Director of the Children's Health Environment Coalition, says:

“People blindly assume that if a product is on the market, it must be OK, or the government would not have allowed it to be sold.”

These toxic ingredients are found to be carcinogenic, damaging the body cells' genetic code and altering the DNA chain.

Dr. Cole Woolley, a chemist from Neways Inc. says:

“This growing mass of non functional cells can turn cancerous… As this mass grows, it crowds and affects the activity of other cells and organs, causing pain, symptomatic problems and even death.”

So if you are serious about your own health & wellness as well as your children's, do check labels and go for products that contain non harmful ingredients when you go on your next shopping trip. Remember, the life this action may save - could be yours and/or your family's.

In case you are unable to find products that are free from harmful or carcinogenic ingredients (very likely you are), you may like to check it out at 60-3-7880.0553 to see to all your personal-care and home-care needs. You may even get it at wholesale price!
